What does Jubilee mean?
De onde nos vem? Where does it come from?
The concept of Jubilee comes from the Bible.
In the New Testament, Jesus presents himself at the synagogue as the One who brings the old Jubilee to completion, because he has come to ' preach the year of the Lord's favour ' (Isaiah 61: 1-2)

How is it the queen's jubilee going to be celebrated?

PENTECOSTES Atos 2 - PENTECOST Acts 2

50 days after the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
10 days after His Ascension to the highest heaven, where He took back His place of Glory and became Intercessor/Mediator in favor of men,
a strong, impetuous wind came into the place where Jesus' disciples continuously searched for the will and presence of God, like tongues of fire were seen by everyone spreading all over the place. They all began to praise Jesus in foreign languages that were unknown to them, but that the Jews from other countries that were assembled in Jerusalem to celebrate Pentecost readily recognised as the ones of the country they now were living in.
Many recognised the presence of God and accepted the divinity and salvation of Christ.
This was the beginning of Christianity.

It is in the Bible that we can have details about the Ascension of Christ into heaven.

 Lucas/Luke 24: 50-53»
A Ascensão
50-53 Jesus levou-os pelo caminho de Betânia e, levantando as mãos para o céu, abençoou-os. Então afastou-se deles e elevou-se até ao céu. Eles adoraram-no e regressaram a Jerusalém, cheios de alegria. E estavam continuamente no templo, louvando Deus.

The Ascension
50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God.

Atos/Acts 1: 9-11»

Jesus Ascends to Heaven
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

EASTER BALLOONS TREES - ÁRVORES DE BALÕES DA PÁSCOA

Handicraft made by students. The ballons are associated with the Ressurection and the Ascension of Christ. Also they look like the sweetened almonds, white, blue, yellow, when put together. They  resemble Easter eggs.
Trees such as the ones displayed here result of the coooperation of groups of students.

2 DIFFERENT FACES OF CHRIST - THE LAMB AND THE LION - DUAS FACES DIFERENTES DE CRISTO - O CORDEIRO E O LEÃO

This is a finger painting by Artist/Photographer: Janet Hyun

It illustrates that THE MESSIAH, THE CHRIST first came as A LAMB, a weak human into this world.
But at His second coming, JESUS CHRIST will be returning as THE magnificent KING, THE  LION OF JUDAH.
He came first as OBEDIENT SERVANT to SUFFER THE TRIAL DESERVED BY THE DISOBEDIENT MANKIND.
He will come next as THE GLORIOUS RULER He will never cease to be.

PÁSCOA- PASSOVER - EASTER

Christians around the world will be celebrating the Good News of redemption of mankind made possible by the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
But WHO IS THE CENTRAL CHARACTER of both Easter and Passover?
A PERFECT, INNOCENT LAMB WHO IS SACRIFICED SO THAT THE MOST NEEDED DELIVERANCE MAY REACH THOSE CONDEMNED. HIS BLOOD MUST BE SHED TO SAVE THOSE THAT WILL PROTECT THEMSELVES "UNDER" IT.
Here are some drawings concerning the topic:

CHRIST and the LAMB SACRIFICED in the Old Testament are but one.

Death passed over Egypt - the firstborns of people and animals were going to be destroyed, except for those that were PROTECTED by the BLOOD of the PERFECT, INNOCENT LAMB
CHRIST, THE PERFECT INNOCENT LAMB PROVIDED BY GOD, so that all  protected with His Blood, unfairly shed, may be delivered from condemnation

The Bible Translation into English has marks of death at the stake - A Tradução da Bíblia para Inglês tem marcas de morte na fogueira

The translation of the Bible transformed how English people spoke to each other, how they wrote their books and how they saw God. The translation of the Bible has had enormous consequences not just for England but America and it keeps on being significant today.
A VALUABLE LEGACY _ The King James Bible Trust (adapted)

William Tyndale, a scholar born in 1494 was burnt in 1536 at the stake because he was a translator of the Bible into English. His last words amidst the fire flames: " Lord, open the King of England's eyes!".  His prayer was answered almost 80 years later when a new king took the throne, after Queen Elizabeth's death. The King James Bible took seven years to organize and much was based on William Tyndale's previous translation work. The same Bible was now both at home and in the church.

The Bible and The English speaking peoples - A Bíblia e a comunidade de países que falam o Inglês

"The King James Bible is a cornerstone of our culture and our language. Whatever our faith, whatever we believe, we have to recognise that the rhetorical power of this book, and in particular its power to fuse history with poetry, connects at the most fundamental level with our own history and poetry."
- Andrew Motion, Poet Laureate 1999-2009

"There is no doubt in my mind that the King James Bible not Shakespeare set this language on its path to become a universal language on a scale unprecedented before or since."

"So the Bible became the book of the British Empire and the British Empire was succeeded by an American Empire speaking English.(...)the King James Bible version swept round the globe in school assemblies, far flung churches, remotely stationed battalions ...it was the Book of the community of English speaking peoples."

" New words  included in the Bible we still use : "scapegoat", "let there be light", "the powers that be", "my brother's keeper", "filthy lucre", "fight the good fight", "sick unto death", "flowing with milk and honey", "the apple of his eye", "a man after his own heart", "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak", "signs of the times", "ye of little faith", "eat drink and be merry", "broken hearted", "clear eyed". And hundreds more: "fishermen", "landlady", "sea-shore", "stumbling block", "taskmaster", "two-edged", "viper", "zealous" and even "Jehovah" and "Passover" come into English through Tyndale. "Beautiful", a word which has meant only human beauty, was greatly widened by Tyndale, as were many others."

THE BIBLE-A BíBLIA - O livro que mudou o mundo- THE BOOK THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

Many think the modern world is based on secular ideals but Melvyn Bragg argues that it was in fact the King James Version of the Bible that had the greatest impact on everything from English Language and Literature to Western democracy.

"The Bible..... the activator of radical shifts in society such as the abolition of the slave trade, the debating dynamite for brutal civil wars in Britain and America and a critical spark in the genesis of modern science."
