Crianças muito novinhas da Associação Filadélfia, depois de terem falado sobre a utilização da água nos seus quotidianos, aprenderam dois novos significados da palavra água ao visionar um excerto do filme o Príncipe do Egipto: o de barreira e o de saída.

Aqui apresentamos alguns desenhos feitos por alunos do 9º ano da Escola Secundária D.Dinis, em Lisboa, que leram em Português, como leitura obrigatória, o Auto da Barca do Inferno, de Gil Vicente. In this drama no character wanted to go to hell, but the majority did. Neste drama nenhum dos personagens queria ir para o inferno, mas a maioria foi. In Jesus' narrative, the powerful man, in hell, wishes he had never gone there. Na narrativa de Jesus, o homem poderoso, no inferno, deseja nunca ter vindo parar àquele lugar. This man, who had been a VIP in life, was after his death totaly unable to change his suffering situation. Este homem, que tinha sido importante, influente na vida, vê-se totalmente incapaz de alterar a sua condição de sofrimento. His decisions on earth had unchangeable consequences in life after physical death. As suas decisões em vida trouxeram-lhe consequências imutáveis na vida após a morte física. Away from God in life on earth, away from God in life after death. Tendo estado afastado de Deus na vida, permaneceu afastado de Deus na vida depois da morte. No way back. Sem retrocesso.

Colégio Valsassina: WALKING through the WATERS or on the WATERS - Caminhando ATRAVÉS das águas ou SOBRE as águas

Fifth year of 90 minutes ATB Task at Colégio Valsassina, Lisbon/ 5º ano de Tarefa ATB de 90 minutos no Colégio Valsassina, Lisboa. A 9th grade class of Colégio Valsassina listened to 3 Bible texts related to water. Two of them were viewed in class by linking to YouTube presentations. Uma turma de 9º ano do Colégio Valsassina ouviu 3 narrativas bíblicas relacionadas com a água. Duas delas foram visionadas em apresentações YouTube. Next they made their illustration of one of the texts told/viewed and wrote a few titles/subtitles in English too. Depois passou-se à fase da ilustração e escrita de títulos/legendas também em Inglês. The whole work was done in English all the time, as usual. O trabalho foi desenvolvido todo em Inglês, como é usual.

The Bible texts handled were THE CROSSING OF THE RED SEA ( Old Testament ) and JESUS WALKS ON WATER and JESUS CALMS DOWN THE STORM ( New Testament ). Os textos bíblicos trabalhados foram: A TRAVESSIA DO MAR VERMELHO ( Antigo Testamento ) e JESUS CAMINHA SOBRE A ÁGUA e JESUS ACALMA A TEMPESTADE ( Novo Testamento ). TAREFA ATB TASK - COLÉGIO MONTE FLOR -

Several domains where water is used were mentioned by the children and the need to use it with responsibility was underlined. Several Bible texts referring to water were reminded, specially the Dialogue between Jesus and the samaritan woman dealing with two meanings of water: drinkable water and Living Water. Drinkable water can quench our thirst for a few hours only; the Living Water becomes itself a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.
Foi mencionada a importância da água no nosso quotidiano e a responsabilidade que cabe a todos nós ao dela fazermos uso. Vários textos bíblicos sobre água foram referidos, tendo sido dado especial relevo ao Diálogo entre Jesus e a Mulher samaritana, sobre dois sentidos da palavra água: a que serve para matar a sede por algumas horas e a que se torna uma fonte que sacia para sempre.

EB1 nº 159, Lisboa - The Talk between Jesus and the Samaritan woman - A Conversa entre Jesus e a Mulher Samaritana

Children from Escola Básica 1 nº 159 worked on two different meanings of water. Crianças da EB1, 159, trabalharam dois significados diferentes da água. The woman from Samaria meant simple, common drinkable water she needed every day, for her personal needs and her housework chores. A mulher de Samaria estava a falar da água comum, visível, que lhe era necessária dia após dia para as suas necessidades pessoais e da casa. Jesus was referring to spiritual water given by Him that once it begins to flood within a person satisfies continuously and jumps over to eternal life; the person won't be thirsty anymore. Jesus referiu-se à água espiritual, invisível, dada por Ele, mas que desde que comece a fluir dentro do ser humano sacia para sempre a sede interior, saltando para a eternidade.

Let's find out how important water has been IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS across generations.HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS concerning the work sequence.
Vamos descobrir como a água tem sido importante EM DIFERENTES SITUAÇÕES, geração após geração.AQUI VOS DEIXAMOS ALGUMAS SUGESTÕES sobre a sequência de trabalho.

Step 1: students report on the areas/how often/ (clean)water is required in their daily routines
( e.g. in the kitchen - to cook, to do the dishes, to clean the floor.... - twice a day ).
Passo 1:os alunos falam sobre as áreas/frequência de utilização de água ( potável) no seu dia a dia
( p. ex: na cozinha - para cozinhar, lavar louça, lavar o chão... - duas vezes por dia )
Step 2: "Imagine a week in your life without water in your home/ in your community. How would it be? What changes...?"
Passo 2: "Imaginem uma semana das vossas vidas sem água em vossa casa/na vossa comunidade. Como seria? Que alterações?..."
Goal: help students become more aware of how happy they are for easily having clean water at their disposal ( GRATITUDE )and also understand that others elsewhere do not have the same experience and so something must be done for them and also in favour of the coming generations ( RESPONSIBILITY; SOLIDARITY/COMPASSION ).
Objectivo: ajudar os alunos a adquirir maior consciência de como são felizes por terem à sua disposição água potável sem limitações ( GRATIDÃO ) e a compreenderem também que outras pessoas, noutros lugares do mundo, não têm a mesma experiência e portanto algo tem de ser feito em benefício deles e das futuras gerações ( RESPONSABILIDADE; SOLIDARIEDADE/COMPAIXÃO ).

Step 3: Choice of a Bible(s) text(s) on water. After listening to the text told by a Teacher/viewed ( youTube link search ) or reading the Bible text, the students will produce individual illustrations, associating both drawing and written titles/subtitles/ speech bubbles in English, making clear for others the meaning(s) of water conveyed in the Bible narrative/s chosen ( see list provided in this blog ).
Passo 3: Escolha de narrativa/s da Bíblia referente ao tema água. Depois de ouvido o texto contado por Professor ou de o ouvirem em gravação audio/visionarem no YouTube, os alunos produzirão ilustrações do mesmo, com escrita de títulos/legendas/balões de fala em Inglês que deixem claro o significado(s) da água apresentado na narrativa/s escolhida/s ( veja-se lista providenciada neste blog ).
Step 4:The work submitted to the contest must be a more elaborate outcome than just the common drawing with texts of an ATB Task. It might be an educational game/ a flier/ a poster/ a calendar/ a roleplay / a song to be seen/heard ( CDRom ), a three dimensional recreation of the Bible Text... creativity and ability to convey the water meaning are central.
Passo 4: O trabalho submetido a concurso terá de ser um produto mais elaborado do que o habitual desenho com texto em inglês que caracteriza a Tarefa ATB. Poderá traduzir-se num jogo educativo/ um prospecto/um cartaz/ um calendário/uma dramatização para ser vista/ uma canção para ser ouvida ( CDRom ) ou uma recriação a 3 dimensões do texto bíblico trabalhado.... a criatividade e a capacidade para transmitir o sentido da água no texto, são aspectos centrais na avaliação do trabalho.

Water, a liquid you cannot do without - Água, um líquido imprescindível

One of the things we take for granted is the ability to go to the faucet, turn it on, and drink or use the water that comes out of it: clean water. Uma das coisas que para nós é natural, é irmos até uma torneira, abri-la e beber ou usar a água que dela vem: água potável.It’s just an automatic process for us, but for many people on this earth getting clean water isn’t quite so easy; they have to go to wells, to fountains, pumps or find rivers, lakes...Isto é algo garantido para nós, mas para muitas pessoas do nosso planeta, obter água boa não é tão fácil; têm de se deslocar até poços, fontes, bombas, ou encontrar rios, lagos...It may seem awkward to us, but it is not uncommon for people to die of thirst in some areas of the world or because of diseases not unusually promoted by the little availability of water for sanitation. Governments, Churches, non-profit organizations, religious missions have been helping to mend pumps, to clean waters or make holes to generate water, to create public toilets.Para nós pode parecer estranho, mas não é incomum haver quem morra de sede nalgumas partes do mundo ou devido a doença causada por insuficiência de água para fins de saneamento. Governos, Igrejas, organizações religiosas ou não, têm procurado ajudar a reparar bombas, a melhorar a qualidade das águas, têm feito furos para que água brote ou criado sanitários públicos. In the Bible water accquires several meanings, besides the one of liquid central to human life. Na Bíblia a água adquire vários significados para além do de líquido imprescindível à vida humana.
